Raccoon Trapping

Raccoons

Raccoons can cause a nuisence when they raid garbage cans, tear up lawns, or use structures (chimneys, atticks, crawlspaces, etc) for dens.

Raccoons are a major wildlife host of rabies. They can also transmit raccoon roundworm. Never handle a raccoon or touch an area it has frequented without taking preventative measures.

Repellents are ineffective and live trapping is required. Artec can safely trap and remove these nuisance creatures from your structure.

Skunk Trapping

Skunks

Skunks can cause a variety of damage from tearing up lawns, eating poultry, vegetables, fruit, and digging under foundations to create their dens.

The Striped Skunk is second only to the Raccoon as a primary host for rabies.

Skunks can also create a nuisance by spraying pets and homeowners. Live trapping and exclusion is required to control them.

Opossum Trapping

Opossums

These awful looking creatures are actually quite beneficial. Among other things, they eat insects including ticks.

However, sometimes they can gain entry to a structure and cause a nuisance. They can also transmit Leptospirosis by way of their urine making contact with a food source (such as a pet water dish).

When these situations arise they must be controlled with live trapping.

Feral Cat Control

Feral Cats

Feral cat populations are on the rise and cause significent health risks.

Their presence creates fleas and they can also transmit disease such as plague, ringworm, toxoplasmosis, leptospirosis, and distemper. They can also severely impact the local bird population.

Live trapping is effective for feral cats and rest assured Artec works closely with the local SPCA and volunteer groups to return any domestic pets we find to their respective owners.

Pigeon Bird Abatement

Pigeons

Pigeons are the most common nuisance bird. The congregate in large numbers in urban environments where they can easily find food and harborage.

Pigeons can transmit a variety of diseases such as salmonella, campylobacter, psittacosos, and histoplasmosis from their droppings. They can also cary mites, ticks and fleas.

Pigeon control is a necessary requirement for urban structures. Artec employs various control methods including mechanical, avicides, and ovicides.

Sparrow Bird Abatement

Sparrows

These prolific little birds are common throughout the United States and thrive in just about any environment.

Sparrows eat a variety of food and will nest wherever they can. They are considered a pest because of the damage they cause to fruits, crops, and structures. They will also drive native birds away when competing for nesting sites.

Large flocks can develop in and around all types of residential and commercial buildings especially around human trash such as dumpsters and retail parking lots.

Starling Bird Abatement

Starlings

The European Starling can be a significant pest in both city and rural settings. They travel in flocks and nest in trees, parks, and buildings.

Starlings can transmit disease and large flocks can also damage or destroy fruit trees with their droppings creating serious economic damage.

In addition to the large amount of filth they product, flocks of starlings can also cause a nuisance with their vocalization for residents and building owners.
